WATCH: Everton Midfielder Gomes' Message To 'Brave' NHS Staff

Andre Gomes has delivered a personal message of thanks to the “brave, dedicated and amazing” NHS staff working to treat and contain coronavirus.

The country will unite at 8pm on Thursday for its third Clap for Carers – a nationwide round of applause showing appreciation for the selfless efforts of NHS staff and other key frontline workers during the ongoing pandemic.

Portugal international midfielder Gomes came to Everton from Barcelona in summer 2018.

In his video message, the 26-year-old expressed gratitude for the selfless health workers who are working tirelessly to save lives during the pandemic.

Gomes also recorded personal messages to staff at Alder Hey and Aintree University Hospital, where he received "amazing" care after fracturing his ankle last November.
