Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar have handed out kit and training wear to dozens of football teams in Kenya as part of SportPesa's Kits For Africa campaign.

The former Blues midfielders drew a large crowd as they headed to the Kariobangi Community Grounds to pass on donations made by Evertonians and fans of other English football clubs.

Since the beginning of the 2018-19 season alone, the campaign has benefited from more than 43,000 donations by Everton, including many from supporters who have used collection points at Goodison Park and the Everton One and Everton Two stores.

Everton take on Kariobangi Sharks, the SportPesa Cup winners, in their opening pre-season fixture at Nairobi's Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

Osman, who helped SportPesa launch Kits For Africa in November 2017, said: "I came here in 2017 to this same pitch in Kariobangi to meet the local people and launch the campaign.

"To come back and see how things have developed and see how big the campaign has become is brilliant. A huge crowd gathered for the donation today and you could see what it meant to people. Hopefully their teams will really benefit from what they have received.

"It's a fantastic scheme for SportPesa and Everton to be involved in."
