Everton Delegate Join Greater Baltimore Committee For Business Event

Everton representatives outlined the Club’s international commercial strategy and presented the latest developments regarding the build of its new stadium when they met with the Greater Baltimore Committee at a business breakfast arranged to mark the team’s presence in the city.

The Committee, which represents 500 organisations across the Greater Baltimore area, is an influential business voice on matters of economic growth in the region and state of Maryland.

The Blues played their first pre-season friendly on the 2022 US tour against Premier League rivals Arsenal in the Charm City Match at the M&T Bank Stadium – home of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens - on Saturday.

An Everton contingent, which included Jurgen Mainka and representatives from the Club’s Engagement, Revenue and International departments, gave a presentation and answered questions on the importance of the US market to its international strategy and how the Club has built up its presence in North America since launching the strategy early last year.

During that time, Everton has opened a US office in Miami, Florida, broadened its International Academy Affiliate programme to now include four North American clubs - three in the USA, one in Canada – and developed a US Soccer Schools programme that will this year engage with more than 3,000 American children.

The benefits of Everton’s soon-to-be new home at Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool waterfront were also explained. The 52,888-capacity stadium, which is due for completion in the 2024/25 season, is recognised as the largest single-site private sector development in the country. Everton's new home offers the Club a platform for commercial growth and is contributing an estimated £1.3bn to the UK economy. The project will also create tens of thousands of jobs and attract 1.4m visitors to the city of Liverpool annually.

Once complete, the scheme will have acted as a catalyst for more than £650m worth of accelerated regeneration directly benefiting the nearby Ten Streets development.

The event took place at the downtown offices of the Greater Baltimore Committee overlooking the inner harbour.
