Everton Academy midfielder Arthur Barratt has signed his first professional contract with the Club until the end of June 2029.

The 17-year-old is a recent addition to our Under-18s, having signed for the Toffees from Chelsea’s academy in the summer.

It has been a productive start to the season for Barratt, who has notched two assists in his first two games for Matt Taylor’s side.

Barratt, who spent 10 years in Chelsea’s academy prior to his Blues move, has already settled in well to life on Merseyside and is excited for the season ahead.

“It’s a very, very special moment,” Barratt told evertonfc.com. “I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time and yeah, I'm very, very happy.

“My summer was good, doing a lot of training just trying to stay fit and be ready for when I came into the group. I've settled in very well – it's a nice group, a lot of good lads and I’ve already made some good friends.

“This Club is going in the right direction. It’s just such a massive club, and it's hard to say no to!

“We’ve had two good games at the start of the year (against Leeds and Reading). We got a good three points to start off the season and hopefully we can carry that on.

Barratt is already enjoying working under the tutelage Taylor, our new Under-18s Head Coach.

“It’s really good learning off someone who's been in the game for such a long time,” added Barratt.

“Obviously he used to play at a high level and he’s a very good coach.”
