Everton Under-18s were narrowly beaten at Blackburn on Saturday, falling to a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League U18 (North).
First-year scholar Rodney Aduda – who featured for Everton Under-21s against AC Milan in midweek – was the goal scorer for the young Blues.
Blackburn’s Alfie Leech was dismissed after just two minutes of the contest, and Aduda converted from the resulting penalty to put the Toffees ahead.
But the hosts pulled one back on 23 minutes through Thomas Cryer.
Everton were also reduced to 10 men when Aduda sent off 12 minutes into the second half, and Blackburn took advantage.
Ty Livesey scored the winner for the home side on 72 minutes.
Next up, Everton Under-18s face Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-18s on Saturday (11.30am BST).
