In 2018, I was an 11-year-old boy in Mexico, playing FIFA 18, and I decided to start a Career Mode.

This was not the first one I had done: I had played with Arsenal, Fulham, QPR and Porstmouth before, even Cheltenham, and a few more that I might be forgetting.

This one, however, was different. I got attached to this particular save. I found myself rooting for Pickford, for Gana, for Coleman, for Baines and Jags, something I hadn’t felt with any other games before.

I never used to watch any football outside of Mexico, but Everton made me do it for the first time.

Since then I have been a Toffee through the years – through the mid-table, through the relegation battles, and now through the new project at Hill Dickinson Stadium, under The Friedkin Group and David Moyes.

One day I wish to be able to travel to England, to get to see Finch Farm and watch a game live at our new home.

Up the Toffees!
