Thierno Barry will lead the attack for Everton's first Premier League clash against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light since 2016.

The France Under-21 international comes back in for the Blues ahead of Beto as the only change from the home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur eight days ago.

It means Barry will be flanked by Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish for Monday's encounter in the north east (8pm GMT kick-off), with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall set to once again play in the advanced midfield role.

The summer signing from Chelsea will be anchored by James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye, while the Toffees' rearguard remains full-backs Jake O'Brien and Vitalli Mykolenko, centre-defensive duo James Tarkowski and Michael Keane, and Jordan Pickford in goal – the keeper facing his boyhood club for the first time since leaving Sunderland for Everton in 2017.

Beto is named on the bench, which also includes Charly Alcaraz, Tyler Dibling and Merlin Röhl.

Everton XI: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski (c), Keane, Mykolenko, Gana, Garner, Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Barry.

Subs: Travers, King, McNeil, Beto, Dibing, Coleman, Alcaraz, Rohl, Aznou, Iroegbunam.
