Everton XI Revealed For Clash At Newcastle

Jarrad Branthwaite and Harrison Armstrong return to the Everton starting XI as two changes for the Premier League encounter against Newcastle United at St James' Park (8pm GMT).

England international Branthwaite has missed the Blues' past two matches due to concussion protocols following a clash of heads with Chelsea keeper Emiliano Martinez last month, but is back in central defence alongside captain James Tarkowski to face the Magpies, with Jake O'Brien moving to right-back in a backline that also features Vitalli Mykolenko and keeper Jordan Pickford.

Merlin Röhl, who featured on the right side of defence in Thursday night's 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Newcastle at Hill Dickinson Stadium, switches to right midfield tonight ahead of Tyler Dibling, while Armstrong is back in central midfield with James Garner and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, as Hayden Hackney is named among the substitutes.

The Toffees' line-up is completed by Tyrique George and striker Thierno Barry, with Jack Grealish not match fit and therefore not part of tonight’s squad.

Everton XI: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski (c), Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Garner, Armstrong, Dewsbury-Hall, Röhl, George, Barry.

Subs: Travers, Maitland-Niles, Keane, Dibling, Johnson, Nørgaard, Alcaraz, Hackney, Graham.
