David Moyes has revealed there are no new major injury concerns for Everton as they prepare to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon (3pm BST) – but says “one or two” players have picked up knocks and will need to be assessed.
Heading into the Toffees’ penultimate away game of the season, long-term absentees James Tarkowski (hamstring), Jesper Lindstrøm (hernia) and Orel Mangala (knee) remain sidelined, while Abdoulaye Doucoure is now available for Moyes’ side.
Due to a personal issue, the Everton midfielder missed last weekend’s 2-2 draw at home to Ipswich Town.
Speaking in Friday’s pre-match press conference at Finch Farm, Moyes explained: “[We have] one or two knocks we’ll look at.
“There are one or two things we need to keep an eye on.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin returned for Everton last time out, recovering from a hamstring injury suffered in late January to come on as a second-half substitute.
On the decision to give Everton’s No.9 minutes against Ipswich, and the benefits of adding options to his front line, Moyes said: “It’s much better having competition. The truth is, my plan was not to play Dom last week, but I just felt the way the game was going we might’ve needed something with a bit of quality on the end of it to get a goal.
“That’s why we gave Dom the last 15 minutes or so. He’s making his way back from a three-month injury, so we want him back. We want competition.
“Beto got a goal last week, so he’s not doing bad.”
The Opposition
Forward Rodrigo Muniz has been out for the past three games with an Achilles injury, while midfielder Harrison Reed is also a doubt for Saturday’s game. Reed was withdrawn last time out against Aston Villa.
Reiss Nelson remains unavailable due to a hamstring issue.
