Carlo Ancelotti features in Monday's Liverpool Echo, with the Everton manager explaining how he has worked to develop a style of play that suits the Blues' talented attacking players.

Richarlison notched his 10th goal of the season as Everton beat Brighton & Hove Albion, meaning the Brazilian has joined Dominic Calvert-Lewin in hitting double figures for the campaign.

"In front, we have a fantastic header of the ball in Calvert-Lewin, who is quick and strong," Ancelotti said.

“We have a fantastic striker like Richarlison. So the fact we can sometimes use a quick counter-attack is important to give our strikers the opportunity to show their fantastic qualities."

Mason Holgate is also quoted in the local read. The centre-back says the Blues are determined to build momentum after securing a third Premier League victory in four matches since Ancelotti's arrival.

Holgate helped Everton record a third successive Goodison Park clean sheet and also stressed the importance of the team displaying its defensive resilience.

"You look at our league results in the last few weeks and we've been doing really well since December, and it's good to carry that on," he said.

"We showed grit in the second half to keep our clean sheet. We all hung in there for the last 10 or 15 [minutes], we rolled our sleeves up and we did it together."

Bernard, meanwhile, features in Garth Crooks' BBC Sport Team of the Week after his livewire display against Brighton, with the pundit stating the Brazilian "buzzed around Goodison Park like the legendary Colin Harvey used to".
