Aaron Lennon returned for a second spell at Everton on the final day of the 2015 summer transfer window.

The winger rejoined the Blues from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal, following his successful loan spell with the Toffees in the second half of the 2014/15 campaign.

During that initial spell he featured 14 times for Everton and scored goals in games against Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers.

His work-rate and ability to beat his marker made him an instant crowd favourite.

Starting out at hometown club Leeds United, Lennon became the Premier League's then youngest ever player in 2003 when he made his senior bow aged just 16 years and 129 days. Two years earlier, aged 14, he had been the youngest ever player to sign a boot sponsorship deal.

He went on to turn out 43 times for the Elland Road side but, a year after their relegation to the second tier, he earned a Premier League return, joining Spurs for a fee of £1million in July 2005.

Lennon's performances subsequently saw him nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award on three occasions, while he also helped Spurs defeat London rivals Chelsea in the League Cup final of 2008.

In total, he made 364 appearances in all competitions for the White Hart Lane outfit.

After representing England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, a senior call-up came in the summer of 2006 when he was included in the Three Lions squad for the World Cup in Germany.

After making his international debut in a warm-up match against Jamaica, Lennon went on to appear twice in the tournament as England reached the quarter-finals and was again involved four years later when his nation exited in the round of 16 in South Africa. At the time of agreeing his permanent move to Goodison, he had earned 21 senior caps for England.

Lennon’s first season as a full-time Evertonian, in 2015/16, saw him score six goals, including an arrowing volley against his former employers Spurs and a wonderful breakaway strike at Stoke.

He made 13 appearances in 2016/17, scoring one goal in the 4-0 win over Yeovil Town in the second round of the EFL Cup.

After playing 19 times for the Blues in 2017/18, Lennon made a permanent move to Burnley on 23 January 2018.
