Everton striker Sandro Ramirez says he is feeling “one hundred per cent” fit and has “very quickly” settled into life at the Club.

The Spain Under-21 international returned to action at Chelsea on Sunday after being ruled out for a fortnight with the ankle problem he suffered against Stoke.

Sandro admitted the Blues found the going tough in west London at the weekend, as they came under a first-half siege from Antonio Conte’s team on their way to a first defeat of the campaign.

But he was impressed by the “fighting spirit” shown by his teammates against the Premier League champions – and was relieved to be back on the pitch following his injury blow on the season’s opening day.

“It has been frustrating,” Sandro told evertontv. “The injury happened at the beginning of the match against Stoke, so I could not play at one hundred per cent of myself in that game.

“I have had problems with my ankle for two weeks but I was looking forward to the game at Chelsea.

“We could not take any points but what I took from it was the attitude of the team and the fighting spirit.

“We knew it would be a tough afternoon, against a very tough opponent, with a lot of individual qualities. We expected that but the team kept fighting until the end."

Sandro signed for Everton in July having spent his entire career in his homeland with Barcelona and Malaga.

After an extended summer break following his involvement at the European Under-21 Championship finals in Poland – where Spain were beaten finalists – the 23-year-old marked his first Toffees' appearance by laying on a goal for Wayne Rooney in last month’s friendly at Genk.

He scored 12 seconds into the Blues' final pre-season match against Sevilla – on what was only his second Goodison Park outing – and was subsequently selected in Ronald Koeman’s team for the visit of Stoke.

Despite being hampered by his ankle problem against Mark Hughes’ side, Sandro was instrumental in the construction of the Rooney goal which ensured the Blues began their Premier League campaign on a winning note.

Koeman's side are back in action against Tottenham on 9 September, when the Premier League reopens for business after the international break.

Asked if he had quickly adapted to life at Goodison, Sandro said: “It has been very good… with the Club, my teammates and the technical staff. And with the fans it has been very, very good.

“We always feel the support from them, even when things do not go well. Everyone is helping me settle in very quickly.

“But now I am looking forward to working very hard in these two weeks. I feel one hundred per cent and I want to be ready for the Spurs game.”
