EDSA Meeting Summary: November 2023

Accessibility at Everton’s future home and Walton Hall Park were key points on the agenda as members of the Everton Disabled Supporters’ Association (EDSA) met with Club representatives in the latest of their bi-monthly meetings.

Designed to facilitate constructive dialogue and collaboration, the meetings see EDSA gather feedback from their members and other disabled supporters.

Members of Everton’s Fan Engagement and Accessibility teams were present.

As part of their ongoing conversations with Level Playing Field, a national charity that acts as a campaigning and advisory organisation to its membership and other parties across all sports, EDSA has raised issues regarding access at our November match against Crystal Palace and the Club confirmed it was aware and reviewing the matter.

A member raised that the accessible area at the front of the Sir Philip Carter Park Stand became congested during the pre-match warm-ups, with supporters congregating to get a closer look at the on-pitch action. It was agreed that Club stewards will continue to marshal the area going forward.

The Club confirmed that any supporters who require accessible tickets or parking for Everton Women matches at Walton Hall Park should contact the accessibility team to book. This can be done via email to accessibility@evertonfc.com.

Looking ahead to the move to Everton Stadium, the Fan Engagement team provided an update on the recently issued migration survey.

The data from the survey is currently being analysed and, once that process has concluded, results will be communicated with the wider fanbase via direct communication and Club channels.

EDSA noted increasing queries from their members regarding seat selection and car parking at the new site. In response, the Club confirmed that accessibility will be earmarked as an important area of the migration process to ensure that supporters' individual needs are met.

Finally, with the festive period approaching, the group discussed Christmas activities for EDSA members - including online giveaways and a small event for a limited number of people.

The next meeting between Everton and EDSA will take place in January 2024.
