Fan Engagement Team Host Supporters’ Club Committee Meetings

Everton’s Fan Engagement Team has met representatives from Supporters’ Clubs from around the world for their first meeting of the 2023/24 season.

The meetings form part of the Club’s commitment within the recently launched Fan Engagement Plan to engage with global Blues who make up the Supporters’ Club Committees.

The four groups were formally established last year to include the leads of international clubs and have structured dialogue meetings with Everton representatives quarterly during the season. The meetings cover topics specific to their geographical areas – UK, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), the Americas and Asia-Pacific.

Supporters based across EMEA and Asia Pacific received an update from Gustavo Spanholi, Senior Manager for Commercial Growth Projects in Everton’s International team.

Gustavo talked fans from both groups through the Club’s international strategy and how it impacts their geographical areas for the forthcoming season and beyond. He also discussed the growth and success of some of the Club’s international projects in their locations – including international Soccer Schools.

Attendees also heard from the Fan Engagement team about the growth of Supporters’ Clubs and Official Members internationally and in their region, as well as feeding back on this season’s affiliation process.

Although supporters across both regions find themselves thousands of miles away from the city of Liverpool, many hundreds and thousands still make the pilgrimage to Goodison Park for matchdays across the season.

Both groups discussed a desire to learn more about accessing any fair ticketing opportunities at the new stadium, as well as receiving an update on the progress and development of the waterfront site.

Evertonians in the UK meeting raised a number of ticketing matters related to the resale platform and queried the Club’s policy on Season Ticket upgrades for fans between different categories.

The group discussed improvements to the Supporters’ Club pages of evertonfc.com and a further appetite to utilise the Supporters’ Club committee for fan feedback.

The British Isles based Blues also learned about a forthcoming migration survey for the new stadium and a commitment to hold a focus group for a small number of committee members later this autumn.

Having completed their first year as Supporters’ Club Committees, all four regions will now re-elect their chairpersons for the forthcoming season and these will be announced as part of the next meeting round-up summary.

The Americas Supporters’ Club Committee meeting will be scheduled in due course and supporters who have signed up will be contacted by the Fan Engagement Team shortly.
