Steelwork Rises In West Stand

Steelwork has emerged on top of the four-level west stand at the Everton Stadium.

The first steel sections, including raker beams, have been installed at the southern end of the stand, as work gears up to manufacture the roofing barrels on the western wharf.

‘A frames’ have been constructed in the open space adjacent to the River Mersey, which key supply chain partners, Severfield, will use toprefabricate the curved sections of roof.

Meanwhile, the internal fit-out gathers pace in both the west and east stand.

Internal walls are now clearly visible in the west stand, while work is well underway in the east stand to install the head track – a profile which forms the top section of the internal walls.

The second full-span roof truss is also complete in the south stand, leaving just the three individual sections still to be installed to complete the third and final full-span truss.

Construction partners Laing O’Rourke hope to have the south stand roof complete by Easter.
