Everton's Barclays Women's Super League match against Liverpool has reached a record-breaking 10,000 ticket sales for next month's encounter at Goodison Park.

A record crowd for a women's match at the Grand Old Lady is expected on Friday 24 March (7.30pm GMT) when the Blues host their local rivals in what is set to be a thrilling contest under the lights.

Evertonians' support has been phenomenal this season for Brian Sorensen's side, breaking the attendance record twice at Walton Hall Park in what has been an impressive campaign to date.

The Club is now bidding to get a packed-out Goodison for their first-ever WSL Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The Blues are aiming to do the league double over their Merseyside rivals after producing a dominant 3-0 victory in the reverse meeting in September.

Megan Finnigan, Jess Park and Hanna Bennison all found the net that day as the Blues were roared on by a sold-out away end at Anfield.

The upcoming meeting between the two teams is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm (GMT) on Friday 24 March.

Tickets are on sale priced at £8 for adults, £4 for under-18s and £4 for over-65s.
