Fans Urged To Make Foodbank Donations At Everton Women v Aston Villa

Supporters attending Everton Women’s fixture with Aston Villa on Sunday are being urged to make a food donation to Fans Supporting Foodbanks.

The distinctive purple Fans Supporting Foodbanks collection van will be parked up in the car park at Walton Hall Park from 11.30am, ahead of the 1pm kick off, where volunteers will be ready to accept donations in a bid to combat food poverty in the Liverpool area.

Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable or a variety of dry food products, such as rice or pasta; tinned foods, or non-perishable packets such as breakfast cereals, biscuits, long life milk, coffee, fruit juice and sugar. While toiletries and children’s nappies are also very welcome.

Founded by supporters of Everton and Liverpool, Fans Supporting Foodbanks have been a regular fixture at Goodison Park over the past six years and will make their debut at Walton Hall Park.

Tickets for the vital clash are still available and can be purchased here.

Dave Kelly, joint founder of Fans Supporting Foodbanks, said: “In 2021, both Everton and Liverpool supported the launch of the #FootbAllTogetherNow campaign which marked a proud moment for the city of Liverpool, becoming the first city in the country to officially back a call for the right to food to be enshrined in law.

“The opportunity we now have to start collecting at Everton Womens’ fixtures at Walton Hall Park, alongside our regular collection point by the Winslow Pub before our Men’s games will really help with raising awareness of the issue of food poverty across the city.

Donations will be accepted right up until kick off with some of the desired items requested:
