Jordan Pickford became the most capped England Men’s player in World Cup history as the Three Lions progressed to the semi-finals of the World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Norway in extra-time.

Jude Bellingham's brace secured Thomas Tuchel's side's place in the final four after 120 minutes, with the ever-present Pickford stopping shots when called upon.

It was Norway who opened the scoring, as Andreas Schjeldreup's cross took a fortunate deflection off the post and rebounded in to the back of the net – much to the surprise of the England backline.

Bellingham then restored parity - his solo effort nestling in to the bottom right corner on the stroke of half-time.

Following several smart saves by England's No.1, the Real Madrid man doubled his tally to spark wild scenes across the nation. Substitute Morgan Rogers' effort was parried by the keeper, with Bellingham on hand to convert the rebound and secure a subsequent brace.

The country held its breath as England survived a barrage of late Norway attacks – Pickford commanding his area to see out the tight affair in the States.

Tuchel's side now prepare to face either Switzerland or reigning champions, Argentina in the semi-finals.
