Gylfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring for the Blues by finishing a fine team move on nine minutes before Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the Toffees' advantage with a close-range header just before half-time.

Raphinia halved the deficit shortly after the break but Everton held firm to secure an important three points.
