Richarlison Helps Brazil To Friendly Victory

Richarlison played the full 90 minutes as Brazil beat South Korea 3-0 in an international friendly on Tuesday.

The Everton attacker won his 18th cap as the five-time world champions wrapped up a comfortable victory in Abu Dhabi.

AC Milan’s Lucas Paquetá headed Brazil in front nine minutes in, before Bayern Munich playmaker Philippe Coutinho curled home a free-kick 10 minutes before half-time.

Juventus full-back Danilo rifled in Brazil’s third on the hour mark.

Richarlison then twice went close to extending Brazil’s lead. The 22-year-old’s powerful drive went fractions wide on 67 minutes, before he fired an effort into the side-netting late in the piece.

Meanwhile, Everton forward Anthony Gordon was on target for England Under-19s as they beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 4-1 in an Under-19 European Championship qualifier in Skopje.

Tino Anjorin, Ethan Laird and Taylor Harwood-Bellis had netted for the young Lions before Toffees Academy graduate Gordon thumped home a left-footed shot to wrap up the scoring.

The 18-year-old also scored in England’s 5-0 victory over Macedonia on Saturday.

England now progress to the ‘Elite Round’ stage of European Championship qualification, which will determine the eight teams who will feature in the final tournament. The Under-19 European Championship takes place in Northern Ireland next summer.

Defender Ryan Astley was also in Under-19 European Championship qualifying action, starting for Wales Under-19s as they beat Kosovo 2-0 in Newport.

Harry Pinchard and Neco Williams were on target for Wales, who also progress to the Elite Round.

Everton Under-18s forward Tom Cannon featured for Ireland Under-19s but his team were beaten 2-0 by Austria.

The result means the Irish will not feature in the qualification Elite Round.
