Everton Under-18s drew 1-1 at Manchester City on Tuesday evening, coming from behind to earn an impressive point at the Joie Stadium.

The hosts – second placed in the league – opened the scoring through Christian Dunbar-McDonald after 10 minutes.

Popping up with a well-timed equaliser, promising winger Joel Catesby levelled for the Blues on 43 minutes, notching his second goal in his past three appearances.

Despite a strong Everton display, the Toffees’ task became more difficult when defender Bradley Moonan, booked in the first half, was sent off for a second yellow with 25 minutes of the 90 remaining.

Nevertheless, the 10 men of the visiting Everton produced a disciplined display to see out the game, heading back to Merseyside with a well-earned point from a closely contested encounter.

The young Blues face another Manchester outing in their next match, when they take on Manchester United on Saturday 4 May (11am BST) at the Trafford Training Centre.
