Moyes' Verdict On Everton Spirit & Blues Fans After Late United Drama

David Moyes saluted further evidence of his squad's fighting spirit – and the continued importance of Evertonians – after the Blues' dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton maintained their unbeaten start to the 2026/27 campaign thanks to a stunning 96th-minute equaliser from debutant Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The right-back's 25-yard cracker in front of a jubilant South Stand followed what looked like a winner from United's Benjamin Sesko three minutes from time.

That came after Tyrique George had made it 1-1 moments earlier, the young winner blasting into the top right-hand corner for his maiden Premier League goal for the Toffees.

Moyes praised the player-of-the-match display from George – as well as the impact of substitutes Maitland-Niles, Hayden Hackney and Jack Grealish.

And, while disappointed Everton could not come away with a victory, the boss was pleased to give loyal fans something to cheer in a rocking finish at Hill Dickinson.
