Potential New Date For Chelsea Home Clash

Everton’s Premier League home match against Chelsea at Hill Dickinson Stadium will be rescheduled for Tuesday 17 February (8pm GMT kick-off) should the London club reach the Carabao Cup final.

The Blues’ clash against Liam Rosenior’s side is currently pencilled in for Saturday 21 March, kicking off at 5.30pm, after being chosen for live television broadcast on Sky Sports.

Following coordination between the Premier League, broadcasters and clubs, should Chelsea progress to the Carabao Cup final on Sunday 22 March, their match at Everton will be brought forward to next month due to limited available midweek Premier League match round slots for the remainder of the season as a result of other European and domestic cup fixtures for English clubs.

The potential rescheduling has been confirmed today following Chelsea’s progress to the last 16 of the Champions League last night, and with a desire to ensure transparency for fans in advance of this Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners go into that match with a 3-2 advantage from their win at Stamford Bridge on 14 January.
