My Everton
29 April 26
It's very difficult to put into words, and into context, how much this football club means – and how much being an Evertonian, especially in this city, means to people. It's an honour, it really is.
Everton embodies what the city is all about. We've celebrated big success throughout our history and, in times of adversity, this football club comes into its own.
Football is everywhere in this city and it's 24/7. You speak to anyone, in any profession, and you'll end up talking about football. Then, when you say, 'I'm a Blue', 'I'm an Evertonian', it gives you a real sense of pride, it puts a smile on your face.

I grew up not far from Goodison Park and the day before every home game, the first team would have a meal with sets of supporters. As a Junior Evertonian or Season Ticket holder, you'd get selected for it and you could eat with the players, then meet them, and take photos, and things like that. Those memories are something I will remember forever and it just shows the kind of community spirit that the Club has always had – and still has now.
It's an exciting time for everyone involved with the Club, and the new stadium is a big part of that. It looks really good from the outside but when you get inside, it's a cathedral. It's an incredible football stadium that we're very fortunate to have.
I'm a father now myself and it makes me emotional to watch my son falling in love with the Club now as well.
