David Moyes gave his verdict after Everton produced a dominant performance but were ultimately forced to settle for a point as the maiden clash with Aston Villa at Hill Dickinson Stadium ended goalless.

Here's every word from the boss' post-match interview with evertontv.

David, a dominant performance, another point which extends the unbeaten run. What are your feelings after that one?

DM: I thought we played really well today. I thought our intensity, the way we kept at it, we never stepped back nearly all game. We had a period maybe 10 minutes into the second half where they had a little bit but, apart from that, I thought we had a really dominant type of performance and I thought the players played really well today. We just probably didn't do the final bit, that was all.

You look at the stats, some really positive ones. We had 20 shots on goal, 14 of those inside the penalty area. How positive is that for you against a team who's been right up there in the past few years?

DM: We've played against teams who've had lots of shots against us and we don't talk about the stats, but today, for me, it wasn't about the stats, it was about the performance and the attitude of the players, the attitude of the crowd. The crowd could tell that the players were at it right from the start and went after it. We did everything we could to win the game from the first minute to the last minute – we kept at it. If the stats say that, great, but I was more interested in how the players' attitude and how they all performed. They've done a great job.

You mentioned about the fans doing their part as well as we move into our new home, but you really did feel that connection today, didn't you? When the players gave everything, obviously the fans will always give them something in return...

DM: Yes, I think that there is a bigger, growing connection, which, by the way, was always there. The players are going about their job brilliantly well. They'll be enjoying it much more as well. They'll be enjoying the way the crowd is supporting them greatly and you're encouraging them. The drive to go and press more has a lot to do with how the crowd support you and I thought today they've done a great job.
