Sean Dyche has confirmed Michael Keane is available for selection again, while five senior players took part in a behind-closed-doors game at Finch Farm ahead of Everton's trip to Arsenal.
The Blues return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Emirates Stadium on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off) – after last weekend's Merseyside derby was postponed due to extreme weather conditions.
Keane is in contention for a place in Dyche's squad having overcome the minor knee injury that kept him out of the 4-0 win over Wolves at Goodison Park last time out.
Seamus Coleman, Armando Broja, Youssef Chermiti, Nathan Patterson and Jake O'Brien, meanwhile, took part in a friendly game at Finch Farm earlier this week in a bid to aid fitness.
Speaking in Thursday's pre-match press conference, Dyche said: "Keano has come through his [injury]. To be honest, he was touch-and-go to be involved [against Wolves] but we felt it was probably best he didn't – but he's been working hard."
Dyche says no timescales have been put on the returns of Tim Iroegbunam (foot) and James Garner (back) – but says the pair are continuing to make positive strides in their respective rehabilitations.
"Tim has been working hard – he's further down the road than he was but he's still not on the grass yet with us and that's going to be a little bit of a while yet," added Dyche. "Jimmy is the same – but they're both making progress."
The Opposition
Arsenal will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White (both knee) for Saturday's game, while Gabriel (knee), Riccardo Calafiori (knee) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (muscular) are rated doubtful.
