Talented all-round midfielder Callum Bates has been with Everton since the age of 11.

Bates made four appearances for the Under-21s in 2022/23, and six the folllowing season - both while also featuring for Everton Under-18s.

In December 2023, he captained the Under-18s at Goodison Park during a 4-1 win over Stockport County in the FA Youth Cup.

Bates was a regular for Everton Under-21s the following year, playing 17 times in Premier League 2.

He also made two senior matchday squads, named on the bench for Everton's Premier League clashes against West Ham United and Brentford in November 2024.

Bates was again a frequent fixture for the Under-21s in 2025/26, appearing 30 times across all competitions.

His only goal of the term was a spectacular one – a thunderous long-range finish against Ipswich Town Under-21s at Goodison Park.

Bates was a part of David Moyes’ Premier League squad in December 2025, when the Toffees claimed a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
