Young Full-Back Carrington Joins Everton Under-21s

Everton Under-21s have completed the signing of full-back Ezra Carrington on a one-year contract until the end of June 2027.

The 20-year-old has been training with Dave Hughes’ side for the past four weeks and will now link up with the squad this season.

Carrington, an England Under-19s international, had previously been with Manchester City’s academy since the age of 11.

An attacking full-back who likes to get forward, Carrington is already settled into life at Finch Farm and is excited to make his Toffees bow with the Under-21s.

“I’m really proud to be here, for me and my family,” Carrington told evertonfc.com. “This is a really big club.

I've been training here and now I’m looking forward to getting started.

“The lads have been really good, really welcoming from the first day which makes it really easy to integrate into the team. The coaching staff have been great, too.

“I’ve actually worked with a few of them before elsewhere, like Tom Curtis when was at England a few years ago.

“I just want to play some games, that's the main thing. I feel ready for the challenge.

“I like to get forward, help out the attack, overlap and cross the ball, but I also do like to defend and get stuck in as well.”
