Under-21s Goalkeeper Pickford Makes Loan Switch

Everton Under-21s goalkeeper George Pickford has signed for AFC Fylde on a short-term loan deal.

For young Pickford, the switch to the National League club represents the second loan move of his career after a spell with Southport last season.

An England Under-20s international, Pickford is a regular for Everton Under-21s and played in 14 Premier League 2 matches during 2025/26.

So far this term, he’s featured six times across all competitions, including the EFL Trophy, Premier League 2, National League Cup and Premier League International Cup.

Last month, Pickford starred when Everton Under-21s beat Boreham Wood – tomorrow’s opponents for Fylde – in a 5-3 penalty shootout victory, making a crucial spot-kick stop to deny Charlie O’Connell.
