Pickford & England Progress To World Cup Last 16

Jordan Pickford played 90 minutes again as England navigated a difficult round of 32 tie against DR Congo, eventually winning 2-1 through a Harry Kane brace.

Thomas Tuchel's side fell behind after only seven minutes, Brian Cipenga's powerful low effort from an angle found the back of the net.

Yoane Wissa hit the post for DR Congo as they looked to extend their first half lead but England would rally in the second 45, with captain Kane turning home a header in the 75th minute and finishing powerfully in the 86th to complete the turnaround for Thomas Tuchel's side.

That result sets up a round of 16 clash with Mexico on Monday 6 July (1am BST kick-off) in the Estadio Azteca following the tournament co-hosts' 2-0 win over Ecuador.
