David Moyes does not expect to welcome back any of his injured players but will have Jack Grealish available for Sunday's clash with Aston Villa.
The Blues head to Villa Park (4.30pm GMT kick-off) without a number of Senior Team players, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman back in light training from hamstring injuries – but not yet ready to feature – and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Charly Alcaraz and Tim Iroegbunam still ruled out.
Meanwhile, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye remain unavailable as they prepare for Senegal's AFCON final against tournament hosts Morocco on Sunday.
Michael Keane is also unavailable, as he serves the second of a three-match suspension after a straight red card for "violent conduct" in the 1-1 draw with Wolves earlier this month.
But Grealish will be in contention to take on his former side after completing a one-match ban for two yellow card offences in that same game against Wolves.
Asked in Friday's pre-match press conference if any players are set to retun at high-flying Villa, Moyes said: "Probably, no. One to two are back on the grass but I don't think they're available for the weekend.
"Both Jarrad and Seamus have been back on the grass. They've been back in training. They're back in amongst it."
On Dewsbury-Hall, Alcaraz and Iroegbunam, Moyes added: "They're getting closer but they're not training yet."
The Opposition
Former Everton midfielders Amadou Onana and Ross Barkley are both major doubts for Aston Villa with thigh and knee injuries respectively.
Emiliano Martinez and Boubacar Kamara face late fitness tests – but Evann Guessand is expected to be available again, after returning from participating in the AFCON with Ivory Coast.
