Beto says he’s eyeing double figures for Premier League goals – after netting his eighth of the campaign in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Everton had to come from behind in West London to earn the win. Vitalii Mykolenko cancelled out Raul Jimenez’s first-half opener, before goals from Michael Keane and Beto took the game out of reach for Marco Silva’s hosts.
“We are really pleased,” said Beto, reflecting on a deserved result on the road. “We did a great shift in the second half. Our first half wasn't our best, but we played really good in the second half.
“We did a great shift, and we got the three points.”
The striker’s goal – a first-time effort which bounced underneath a diving Bernd Leno – was Beto’s 10th for Everton in all competitions during 2024/25.
Now on eight league goals for the term, he’s targeting 10 in the Premier League.
On the goal at Craven Cottage, he continued: “For me, it was really important, and for the team too because with the third goal, we sealed the game.
“We knew we were going to win. We just needed to defend, to hold the ball and just try to win at all costs. And we did it.
“For me, it was really good. I'm getting better and better every day, and I want to keep getting better and better, playing better, holding the ball better, passing better, scoring more goals.
“I feel that as long as I'm playing, I'm improving and I'm really pleased with the figures. I wanted [10 goals], but I want [10] in the Premier League too.”
Next up for the Toffees is the final game to be played at Goodison Park, with Everton welcoming Southampton next Sunday for what’s expected to be an emotional occasion at the Grand Old Lady.
Looking ahead to the game, Beto added: “It's going to be the farewell for Goodison – the Old Lady.
“Everyone wants to play this game, everyone wants to watch this game, and we need to give a great answer.
"We need to prepare ourselves through the week. It's not going to be an easy game, but it's important to win. We just need to win that game to give our fans a good farewell."
