BIO

Republic of Ireland international Brosnan joined Everton in July 2021 on an initial one-year deal.

She moved to the Club following a two-year spell with West Ham United where she left upon the expiry of her contract at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Born and raised in New Jersey, USA, Brosnan has experience in competing in the United States during her college career with Syracuse Orange.

The goalkeeper then moved to Europe where she enjoyed three years in France with Ambilly Féminin and Le Havre AC before moving to England.

Brosnan made her Everton debut in the Continental Cup group stage where she was named in the starting line-up for the opening match away to Manchester City in October 2021.

Experienced at international level, Brosnan has become a regular name in the Ireland squad since her debut against Germany in September 2020.

In June 2022, the keeper signed a new one-year Everton contract.

The opening months of the 2022/23 season were truly special for Brosnan.

The Everton goalkeeper helped secure the Blues' first win of the season with a dominant 3-0 display over local rivals Liverpool at Anfield in September 2022.

A month later on the international scene, Brosnan experienced another historic moment.

The Ireland international produced a sensational performance at Hampden Park as her nation beat Scotland 1-0 to qualify for their first-ever women’s World Cup finals.

Brosnan maintained that impressive early form for the remainder of her campaign, appearing on 18 occasions for the Blues with a total of five clean sheets across all competitions.

Ahead of Brosnan's debut at the World Cup in Australia & New Zealand, she was named as Ireland's Senior Women’s International Player of the Year for her efforts for club and country.

Whilst Ireland exited the tournament at the group stage, the Everton 'keeper gave a good account of herself, with her standout performance in the 0-0 draw with Nigeria saw Brosnan pick up the Player of the Match award.

Her third season with the Blues was arguably Brosnan's strongest to date.

After competing with Emily Ramsey for a spot in Brian Sorensen's starting XI in the previous campaign, injury troubles for her Everton teammate presented Brosnan with an opportunity for a consistent run of games that saw her flourish.

She made 20 appearances in the Women's Super League, secured five clean sheets and made 95 saves - more than any other goalkeeper in the top-flight that season.

A year on from being recognised with an award at international level, Brosnan was voted as Players' Player of the Season. She is the second goalkeeper to win the award, following on from Rachel Brown-Finnis in 2011/12.

In June 2024, Brosnan signed a new two-year contract with the Club, extending her stay until the end of June 2026.

More success followed with the Blues, the keeper making the most saves in the WSL in the 2024/25 campaign.

And after being a regular between the sticks, Brosnan made another new deal in February 2026 until the end of June 2028.

Contracted until: June 2028
