How do we use your data?

Everton will process personal data when recording and investigation safeguarding concerns. This may require disclosure to third parties.

Where does your data come from?

  • Data may come directly from you
  • Data may come from referrals into the safeguarding team
  • Data may come from third parties to support safeguarding investigations

What data do we collect?

This may vary based on the nature of safeguarding concerns but is likely to include:

  • Name, age and other relevant identifiers.
  • Contact information.
  • Next of kin and known associates.
  • Other agencies that may be involved.
  • Sensitive identifiers including ethnicity, sexual orientation and religion.
  • Details of the safeguarding concern and investigation.

How long do we keep your data?

  • We will retain safeguarding information for 30 years.

Who do we share your data with?

Data will be shared strictly on a need-to-know basis. Information will be anonymised wherever possible.

  • Everton employees responsible for safeguarding
  • Third parties as required as part of a safeguarding investigation or referral.

What is the legal requirement being met for this activity?

  • Public interest – Article 6 1 (e) 
  • Substantial public interest – Article 9 2 (g) UK GDPR and Safeguarding of children and of individuals at risk – Sch 1 Part 2 18 UK DPA
