How do we use your data?

Information is collected in order to administer the recruitment process and undertake pre-employment screening. Pre-employment screening may include references, occupational health, social media and other publicly available information.​²

Where does your data come from?

  • We primarily recruit staff directly and will collect information from you.
  • We may also use agencies who provide information to you and will receive information from third parties to support the recruitment process where necessary, such as pre-employment screening.

What data do we collect?

  • Your name and other relevant identifiers.¹
  • Contact information.¹
  • Personal financial information, including salary.¹
  • Performance and capability.¹
  • Criminal record and other sensitive data if disclosed as part of the pre-employment screening process.²
  • Health information – if disclosed to us and relevant to your application, including for reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process.³
  • Sensitive identifiers such as ethnicity, sexual orientation and religion.³

How long do we keep your data?

  • We may retain details of unsuccessful candidates for up to 6 years.
  • Successful candidates will have their data transferred to their employment record.

Who do we share your data with?

  • Everton employees responsible for recruitment.
  • Suppliers and other third parties if necessary to support the recruitment process.

What is the legal requirement being met for this activity?

    • Performance of a contract or pre-contract – Article 6 1 (b) UK GDPR.¹
    • Substantial Public Interest – Article 9 (g) UK GDPR & Safeguarding – Part 2 18 DPA.²
    • Consent – Article 6 1 (a) and Article 9 2 (a) UK GDPR.³
