How do we use your data?

The Peoples Place is a purpose-built mental health hub providing an extensive range of activities to improve mental health and promote suicide prevention.

The Peoples Place will form part of the wider health ecosystem and ensure a collaborative approach across all mental health service providers including NHS and the third sector.

Where does your data come from?

  • The data will come directly from you, or an individual on your behalf.
  • We may receive referrals into our service. This should only be with your knowledge and consent.​

What data do we collect?

The specification information will be based on your individual experiences and participation, but is likely to include:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • Personal identification, including age, gender.
  • Health information, including mental health.
  • Your social circumstances and other data you choose to provide to us, in order to understand your needs and provide the support required.

How long do we keep your data?

  • We will retain your details for up-to 6 years beyond your last contact with EitC.

Who do we share your data with?

  • Your data may be shared with third parties working from the Peoples Place who are providing direct care to you; this may include a GP.
  • If we make a referral to a third-party organisation for additional support, we will notify you and gain your permission to do so.
  • In the event that we have serious concerns about your health, we may make a referral in your best interests to another healthcare provider. We will notify you about this, unless we believe doing so would put you at greater risk of harm.

What is the legal requirement being met for this activity?

  • Performance of a contract or pre-contract – Article 6 1 (b) UK GDPR.​ This is not a formal contract, but the agreement between you and us to engage in this programme.
  • The processing of your health data, and other special category data, is for the provision of health care or treatment – Article 9 2 (h) UK GDPR.x
