Everton secured their fourth consecutive win in the WSL on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the capital.
Yuka Momiki broke the deadlock inside 13 minutes, the Japan-international rifling a low effort past Lize Kop and in to the bottom right corner.
The hosts drew level deep in to the second-half, though, as Signe Gaupset beat Courtney Brosnan with a drilled strike from a narrow angle.
With seven minutes remaining, substitutes Kelly Gago and Inma Gabarro combined to see the former tap home to decide the affair.
Brosnan was trusted with the armband in between the sticks, with a backline of Maz Pacheco, Martina Fernandez, Ruby Mace and Hannah Blundell in front of her.
Rosa van Gool and Aurora Galli sat deep in midfield, allowing Zara Kramzar to roam further forward on her maiden start in royal blue.
A trio of Momiki, Ornella Vignola and Toni Payne led the line – Vignola fresh from making her senior debut for world champions Spain over the international break.
The Blues started on the front foot, Kop denying Payne an early opener with not even a minute on the clock. The forward raced forward after meeting Galli’s threaded through ball and breached the hosts box. Kop left her line to narrow the angle, denying Payne with a smart save.
From the resulting corner, the keeper was called in to action once more – Kop collecting van Gool’s volley after Mace’s corner was only half-cleared.
Momiki then arrowed a low strike across Kop on 13 minutes to send the travelling Toffees wild. Found by Kramzar on the edge of the box, the 29-year-old breezed past Molly Bartrip and shifted the ball on to her stronger foot. The ball nestled in to the bottom corner, evading the reach of the outstretched keeper.
Payne came agonisingly close again in the 38th minute. The forward brought down Vignola's cross-field ball and volleyed at goal. Her looping effort fell just wide of the mark, though.
A cagey start to the second half ensued, with the hosts enjoying the majority of possession while not conjuring up any clear-cut opportunities.
With 65 minutes on the clock, Phelan looked to his bench for the first time and called upon Melissa Lawley, who replaced the lively Payne down the right flank.
Pacheco came close to netting her first goal for the Club nine minutes later as she looped a curling header just over the crossbar.
Against the run of play, the hosts equalised moments later as Gaupset found the bottom left corner despite a tight angle.
That was not to be the last act of the game, though, with Gabarro teeing up Gago for a late winner that gave Phelan's side the points they deserved.
Everton return to action on Saturday 21 March (12pm GMT) to face Manchester United, before hosting Liverpool at Goodison Park on Saturday 28 March (12pm).
