Fernandez Joins Barcelona

Everton can confirm Martina Fernandez has returned to Barcelona after the Champions League winners triggered a buy-back clause in the defender’s contract.

Fernandez initially joined Everton on loan from the Catalan outfit for the second half of the 2024/25 season. After impressing in royal blue, the youngster made the move permanent ahead of the Toffees’ historic inaugural season at Goodison Park.

The Ordis-born centre-back started all 22 WSL fixtures for Everton in her first full season with the Club. In the same season, ‘Tini’ received her first call-up to Spain’s senior squad alongside fellow Toffees Inma Gabarro and Ornella Vignola.

Everyone at Everton wishes Martina the best in her career and thanks her for her efforts since first arriving in January 2025.
