Catesby Joins Accrington Stanley On Loan

Everton Under-21s winger Joel Catesby has signed for League Two club Accrington Stanley on loan.

Catesby – a Birkenhead-born Everton Academy graduate who joined the Club aged four – became a first-year scholar with the Blues in the summer of 2023, notching five goals and three assists in his first league season for Everton Under-18s.

In August 2024, Catesby penned a first professional contract, signing with the Toffees until the end of June 2027.

A long-term injury – a broken fibula and dislocated ankle – against Bradford City in the EFL Trophy in October 2025 limited Catesby’s minutes for 2025/26, but he returned to earn a place in David Moyes’ Men’s squad for this summer’s pre-season campaign.

A part of the side’s training camp in Scotland in July, Catesby was on the bench for the Blues’ 4-0 victory over Dundee.

He now links up with John Doolan’s Stanley for the maiden loan move of his career.
