Goodison Park will host Jill Scott and Karen Carney’s ’Long Story Short Live Podcast, Powered by British Gas’ when the Toffees host Chelsea on Sunday 26 April (12pm BST).

The two footballing legends will be joined by Club captain Megan Finnigan to record a live podcast from The People’s Club lounge at the WSL’s most iconic venue ahead of kick-off, with supporters attending the clash against the reigning WSL champions invited to spectate free of charge with a match ticket.

The live viewing, due to take place at 11am, will be operated on a first-come, first-serve basis; with limited capacity in The People’s Club which will open from 10.45am.

Scott joined Everton in 2006 and swiftly became a fans' favourite on Merseyside. Her impressive performances in the middle of the park helped the Blues lift the FA Women’s Premier League Cup in 2008, before triumphing in the 2010 Women’s FA Cup.

After leaving in 2013, Scott returned to L4 on loan in 2021 and went on to win the European Championships with England a year later – fellow former Blue Chloe Kelly’s 110th-minute strike securing a famous victory for the Lionesses.

Born in Birmingham, Carney began her career in the second city and was named FA Young Player of the Year in consecutive seasons whilst with her childhood club, Birmingham City. A move to Arsenal beckoned, where she won all three domestic trophies.

A prominent figure for England during her career, Carney represented her country in four World Cups and four European Championships. In 2021, her place in football history was cemented, as she was inducted in to the English Football Hall of Fame.

The duo’s success has continued since hanging up their boots – Scott winning the 22nd series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Carney’s fast-feet seeing her win Strictly Come Dancing in 2025.

Captain of Everton Women, Megan Finnigan played alongside Scott and recognised her former teammate and Carney’s involvement in the growth of women’s football.

“Jill and Karen are legends of football as a sport, not just women’s football. I am delighted we are welcoming them to Goodison Park ahead of our clash with Chelsea. I am also looking forward to joining them and reminiscing on some of the special moments we shared on the pitch.

“The live podcast will be an exciting event for our fans – I know many would love to be in attendance and be a part of something special.”
