Match info

Everton travel to Villa Park following the international break to face Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon in the Women’s Super League, with kick-off at 12pm (GMT).

Last Time Out

The Toffees’ last outing saw them come out on top on penalties after a 1-1 (4-3 penalties) draw against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup on 19 October.

Aimee Jessica Claypole had given the visitors a second-half lead from the spot, but just three minutes later, Kelly Gago curled home an equaliser. After the game ended in a stalemate, Emily Ramsey denied two Forest penalties in the shootout, whilst Clare Wheeler, Gago, Elise Stenevik and Maz Pacheco all converted to give Everton the edge.

The Opposition

Villa concluded the 2024/25 season in sixth place after a strong end to the season saw them climb the table. Their most notable result was an impressive 5-2 win against high-flying Arsenal, which saw the Gunners’ hope of winning the title end in stunning fashion.

This term, Villa currently sit eighth after five games, but they are on an unbeaten run dating back to 14 September.

Players To Watch

Gago will aim to keep her scoring run going after opening her account for the season in the League Cup. The France international was in action for Les Bleus over the break, playing in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals against Germany.

After her double-save penalty heroics and subsequent growth in confidence, Ramsey will aim to shut up shop on the road. The shot-stopper has stepped up in the absence of Courtney Brosnan, who sustained an injury during the Toffees' home clash with London City Lionesses in September.
