Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic met members of Everton's Junior Fans' Forum recently to learn more about their exciting latest project - to help the Club develop plans for a new character mascot.

Having met with Club representatives at Goodison Park in February to discuss ideas for what an Everton character mascot could look like, the group headed to Finch Farm to give further feedback on its potential appearance, back story and name.

While there, the youngsters were joined by Bosnian stopper Begovic and Blues ambassador Graham Stuart, who were keen to learn more about the plans and how the young Toffees are playing their part.

The Club is exploring introducing the character mascot as an addition to the ever-popular Toffee Lady on matchdays at Hill Dickinson Stadium and at future events.

Macy, aged 14, a member of this season's Junior Fans' Forum, said: "It's so exciting to be involved in creating a mascot for Everton and to share what we have been doing with Asmir and Graham.

"We've talked lots about what we think Evertonians our age would like about a mascot, what they would want, and what Everton and the new stadium means to us.

"To think a mascot that we've helped create could maybe come to life at the new stadium is really cool."

While at Finch Farm, the youngsters enjoyed a tour of the state-of-the-art training facilities and had photographs with Begovic and Stuart.

Everton's Junior Fans’ Forum was established in 2013 and gives members the opportunity to learn more about the work of all the Club's departments and act as a sounding board on key initiatives.

The Forum, which typically meets during school holidays, is open to any Blues aged between 11-17 and an open application process is held each summer.
