Everton Ambassador Graham Stuart was joined by Club staff and members of the North American Toffees in volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, demonstrating the Club’s long-standing commitment to community values while on tour in the United States.

More than 15 volunteers – including fans from Chicago Evertonians and across the US as well as visiting staff from various departments at Everton – came together at the city’s largest food bank to help pack boxes for distribution through food assistance programmes that support low-income families across Chicago.

The activity, part of the Club’s wider engagement during the Premier League Summer Series, took place ahead of Everton’s fixture against West Ham United at Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago.

Graham Stuart, Everton Ambassador, said: “I was proud to spend my morning volunteering alongside colleagues and fellow Evertonians at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

“Everton is a Club that’s always been known for its community spirit – and it was fantastic to see that same spirit reflected by the fans and staff here in Chicago. Whether they’d travelled from Atlanta, New York or Liverpool – or were local to the city – everyone wanted to pitch in and help make a difference.”

The Greater Chicago Food Depository supports households across the city, with 1 in 5 currently experiencing food insecurity. In its last fiscal year, the organisation provided more than 101 million meals, recorded over 2.4 million household visits to its grocery partners, and helped submit nearly 19,000 public benefits applications on behalf of Chicago residents in need.

Rodolfo Godinez, Volunteer Coordinator at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, said: “We were delighted to welcome the Chicago Evertonians and representatives from Everton Football Club to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

“We’re really grateful that they found time to volunteer and give back to the Chicago community while they’re in town for the Premier League Summer Series. Their time with us today will help ensure that families in Chicago won’t go hungry.”

Everton will end their time in Chicago by facing West Ham United this evening. Tickets for the Premier League Summer Series fixture are still available and can be purchased by clicking here.
