The Independent claims Everton are aiming to secure a loan deal for Manchester City winger Jack Grealish.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after being excluded from City’s Club World Cup squad.
Napoli have expressed interest so far, but Everton “feel they have a chance due to the player’s anticipated willingness to stay in the north,” sources told The Independent.
“David Moyes is willing to build his team around Grealish, while offering more freedom than he has had at City,” writes Miguel Delaney.
“There is also the added attraction of Everton entering a new era in the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and the Friedkin ownership’s willingness to spend after the recent takeover.”
Elsewhere on the transfer front, the Blues are interested in Lyon midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to TalkSport.
Having graduated from Arsenal’s academy, Maitland-Niles joined Lyon in the summer of 2023 after his contract in North London expired.
The outlet claims the midfielder may be up for sale due to Lyon’s financial situation, with the French outfit surviving relegation to the second division after an appeal.
The 27-year-old has experience of playing in England’s top flight, having broken through with the Gunners before heading out on loan to West Bromwich Albion.
