Teenage Everton talents Issy Hobson and Ellie Jones have signed for Women’s Championship club Sheffield United on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Young midfielder Macy Settle also heads out on loan for the rest of the campaign, linking up with Championship club Blackburn Rovers.
Promising pair Hobson and Jones make the temporary switch to the Blades, who finished seventh in last season’s second tier, and will be managed by head coach Ash Thompson – new in the role ahead of the current campaign, after stepping up from his previous responsibilities as the Yorkshire club’s Under-21s head coach.
Hobson, a 17-year-old defender, made her senior debut for Everton in the League Cup against Leicester City in January 2024.
In April 2024, the lifelong Evertonian came off the bench to head home an equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal, and in doing so, becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer in the Women's Super League era, aged just 16 years and 180 days.
Midfielder Jones made her competitive Everton debut earlier this season, featuring against Manchester United in the League Cup.
The 17-year-old went on to earn more minutes and a first senior start for Brian Sorensen’s Toffees against Liverpool in December.
Settle, also aged 17, made her senior Everton debut as a 16-year-old in December 2023.
Her temporary move represents a return to Ewood Park for Settle, who enjoyed a short loan spell at Blackburn at the beginning of the current season, before being recalled by Everton.
