Jake O'Brien believes Everton are "more than good enough" to take points off any side ahead of the final stretch of the Premier League season.

Although the Blues fell to a narrow defeat against Manchester City on Saturday, O'Brien saw a number of positive aspects from the team's performance.

O'Brien told evertontv: "The loss was very disappointing. I thought for large periods we were good and we defended well. But it's moments that win games and there were moments where we let ourselves down and they scored two goals.

"If you look back through the game, we were good for periods of the game, especially in the first half, but I think for the second half of the second half, we lost legs. In tackles and in moments, we let ourselves down, then they picked us off and they scored two goals."

The Republic of Ireland international continues to play for the Blues in the right-back role, and he believes he is now feeling comfortable in the new position.

"I'm enjoying it. It's a new role, but I think I'm learning every game," added O'Brien. "I have good lads around me to help me as well. I'm coming up against good players every week and it's a learning experience, but I'll continue to do so and help the team."

Now, the focus for O'Brien is solely on taking as many points as possible from the last five matches of the season.

"I suppose the last couple of games we've been on a decent run, so I think it's important that we put this behind us and we move forward and try to pick up as many wins as we can before the end of the season.

"We're more than good enough to go to every team we have and pick up points. And I think that's what we'll do, is we put this behind us. We'll go in and be positive in every game."
