Sean Dyche revealed that several changes will be made ahead of the Blues’ Carabao Cup clash with Southampton tonight, the Liverpool ECHO has reported.

The Toffees reached the third round having cruised past Doncaster Rovers in late August thanks to goals from Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye, and Beto.

Speaking in his press conference, the manager said: “There will be some changes, we will get some players that we know need match time because obviously with all due respect to the cup, I’ve spoken endlessly, they are important but they’re not as important as the league, the league is vital. So, we do need bodies fit and we’re going to have to use some bodies that we might not have played.

“We’re going to have to play certain players because they need the minutes, and they need to be able to challenge for us.”

Elsewhere, Liverpool World writes about the young Blues’ signing of Justin Clarke from AFC Wimbledon.

The 16-year-old gained plaudits after becoming the Dons’ youngest-ever senior player, making his debut against Wycombe Wanderers aged 15.

Journalist, Will Rooney highlighted the Toffees’ recent academy signings and wrote: “the teenager moves to Everton where he will initially link-up with Leighton Baines’ Under-18s. He’s the latest arrival to bolster the Blues’ youth ranks, having signed Omari Benjamin (Arsenal), Braiden Graham (Linfield), Ciaran Loney (Partick Thistle) and William Tamen (Burton Albion) earlier this summer.”
