Committee members of Everton Disabled Supporters’ Association (EDSA) were provided with an update on accessibility plans for Everton Stadium as they joined Club officials for their first scheduled meeting of the 2024/25 season.
As part of Everton’s commitment to open dialogue with supporter groups, representatives of the Club’s Fan Engagement and Accessibility teams meet with EDSA quarterly to discuss agenda points raised by the group and to listen to - and seek - feedback.
Wednesday’s meeting was attended by Accessibility Lead Chris Massam, who explained to the group that he had recently returned to the Club to take on a role that will focus on ensuring accessibility needs of all supporters are met when the new stadium opens next summer.
As part of his role, Chris will continue to liaise with EDSA and other supporters on accessibility requirements at the Club’s new home and also policies relating to accessibility and equity, diversity and inclusion.
In response to a question raised by EDSA, the Club confirmed that removing the Over-65 ticketing category at Everton Stadium is not in its current plans and reiterated that more information about Season Ticket migration for all supporters would be made available later this year.
With the move from the familiar surrounds of Goodison to a new stadium set to bring a period of change, the Club and EDSA also discussed how EDSA’s committee can continue to evolve its communication to members and the potential for a dedicated EDSA website to be created.
Plans for an accessible Christmas event were also progressed, with details to be finalised once Everton’s fixture schedule for November and December has been confirmed. The Club committed to supporting EDSA with communication to members and the wider fanbase in the run up to the events.
Other feedback offered by EDSA related to catering provision at Goodison Park and the accessibility allocation and sight-lines at upcoming away Premier League fixtures.
