Koeman Keen To Add

Ronald Koeman says he would like to add to his Everton squad before the end of the transfer window.

Ashley Williams became the Dutchman's third signing on Wednesday, joining goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye as new faces within the Blues' ranks.

And Koeman is keen to build further both in terms of strength and quality.

“We are having discussions, myself, the board and [Director of Football] Steve Walsh,” he said. “We have three new signings – Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gana  Gueye and Ashley Williams – and we hope to do business for three or four more players.

“For now, I don’t talk about rumours or players who have contracts at other teams. I don’t like that from other managers. I only speak about players who have signed a contract at Everton and when everything is done.”

Koeman also revealed that striker Oumar Niasse will be allowed to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

He added: “I don’t know the state of the interest in Oumar at the moment. He is not, in my opinion, the future of what we need in that position. I hope the best for the boy.”
