Mathew Mallon

Right-back Mathew Mallon was born in Liverpool and joined Everton Academy aged four.

The defender sees his pace, strength, defending and crossing as his main assets and he consistently showcased these attributes during an impressive 2020/21 campaign.

Having established himself in the Blues' Under-18 side, he made his Everton Under-23s debut in March 2021, where he provided an assist in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

He went on to play three more games for David Unsworth's team before the end of the season and, in June 2022, signed his first professional contract, penning a two-year deal.

The following campaign, Mallon featured four times for Everton Under-21s in Premier League 2 action. He also made two EFL Trophy appearances.

Mallon’s favourite pre-match meal is a boiled egg on toast, with milk and a banana, and when he’s not playing football, he likes to watch The Inbetweeners, listen to Sonny Fodera and play Call of Duty.

Contracted until: June 2024
